Aggy's Airsoft Journey: Shining and Taking Space

Aggy's Airsoft Journey
For a long time, Aggy was the only woman playing airsoft in the Highlands. She turned up on her own, borrowed kit, and got on with it. Four years on she sits on her team's committee and describes finding Fujin as finding her space in the world.
How It Started
The way in was a small Halloween event at her local site. Aggy calls herself the Queen of Halloween, so the logic was straightforward. Get dressed up, borrow the equipment, have some fun.
The beginning after that was, in her own word, odd. She played occasionally, first with a Specna Arms and otherwise on rentals. She could not find anyone to go with, so she went alone. She admits she was scared.
Finding Her Feet
Life got in the way and she had to pause for a while. What brought her back was meeting someone who helped bring the spark back and gave her the confidence to push on.
After that it moved fast. She started playing regularly. She began building her loadout properly, investing in guns, and questioning everything like a complete rookie again. She got involved in the social side, started travelling to different sites, joined her local team, and was promoted through the ranks until she became one of the committee.
Her loadout moved with her. Mostly forestry at the start, now MonkeyFace Combat, built out further and, as she puts it, looking incredible.
Asked what the hardest part of getting into airsoft is, her answer is not cost or access. It is asking questions. We forget we all started somewhere, she says, and we are scared to ask in case we look stupid.
Finding Fujin
Within a few weeks of becoming more visible on socials, more and more Fujin members started appearing on her feed. She followed them, they followed back, and she got curious. Conversations started. Then two Fujin ambassadors, Raygun and Ronnin, reached out directly.
She describes them simply as brilliant boys, and from there, in her words, here she is. Shining and taking space.
What Changed
Her answer to what has changed since joining Fujin is three short sentences, and they say more than a paragraph would. She feels seen. She feels appreciated. She found her people, and her space in the world.
On what she wants to see more of, her take on the product side is that you can already build your loadout fully. On the community side, she points out the obvious. Fujin members are all over the place.
Discovering How Big It Gets
Aggy describes the whole thing as surreal. Everything went so fast that she could barely believe it, and the biggest realisation along the way was discovering how big the community actually is.
Asked how Fujin has helped her mentally and physically, she could not find the words. Her exact answer: she does not have enough words for how good she feels now.
