The second wind

Sōfū means twin wind, and that's the whole idea — nobody comes on their own. We've got the full site and the roster won't fill it, so there's one condition on the invite, and it's an easy one.

Everyone brings somebody.

Mate, partner, brother, the lad from your home site who keeps asking about the rigs. Doesn't matter who — if they want to play, bring them. One Ronin, one guest, booked as a pair.

No one to drag along? There are 20 solo slots, though pairing up works out cheaper a head. Grab someone if you can.

Good shouts

  • Whoever you normally play beside at your home site
  • The mate who keeps saying they'll try it one day
  • Someone you've not had a game with in years
  • A partner or a kid who fancies a go — bring them

Two small asks

  • They're playing, not watching — everyone on site is in the game
  • Give us their name when you book so we've got numbers for the site
  • If they're new to it, they'll be looked after. Plenty of spare kit about.
02

No marshals

Site's ours for the day, so there's nobody in a hi-vis following you round the field. We've all played long enough to run a day between us — calls are on you, and there's a games master keeping the clock.

01

Take your hits

You know the drill. Hand up, call it, walk out. Nobody's counting anyone else's — just take your own and the day runs itself.

02

Eye pro stays on

The one thing we can't be relaxed about. Goggles on from the safe zone line until you're back inside it, and that goes for guests too.

03

Games master on the day

There's a games master and timekeeper running things throughout — game on, endex, keeping the phases moving. Not marshals, just someone making sure the day actually runs.
