The MTW-9 answers a different question from the M4 guns. It is not a short carbine, it is a submachine gun pattern — the magazine well is cut for 9mm-format magazines, the receiver is shorter, and the Laylax stock folds alongside it. For a CQB site, a backup gun or anyone who finds a full-size rifle tiring, that is the headline.
It feeds from two magazine families. An ASG EVO holds 75 rounds and a PTS EPM E9 holds 110, and empty-mag detection works with both, so the bolt catch behaves the way it should whichever you run. Wolverine supply a PTS EPM E9 with the gun.
Internally it is the same platform as the rest of the range: a Gen 3 billet receiver set holding Intrinsic Alignment so the engine, hop and barrel share one axis, an INFERNO Gen 2 on the Spartan control board, a T5 curved trigger and the same 80 to 140 PSI window. Parts, tuning knowledge and MTW-Spec upgrades all carry across.
The 7-inch Invictus MK-1 rail gives you M-LOK for a light and a front grip without making the gun long again, and the premium real-steel grip takes standard AR replacements if you want something different in your hand.

Frequently asked questions
How compact is it folded? The Laylax stock folds alongside the receiver, which is what makes it a genuine vehicle and bag gun rather than just a short carbine. Ask us if you need a folded measurement before ordering and we will take one off a unit here.
Which magazine should I buy spares of? The PTS EPM E9 holds 110 rounds against the EVO's 75, and both trigger the empty-mag detection. The EVO is often easier to find secondhand.
Does it take MTW-Spec parts? Yes. Engines, hop bodies and inner barrels are shared with the rest of the MTW range, and real-steel AR grips and buffer tubes fit.
What is the difference from the PDW XB? The PDW XB runs the INFERNO XTS engine with the BLINC Bluetooth FCU. This one keeps the INFERNO Gen 2 on the Spartan board, which is the simpler electronics package and the cheaper way into the platform.
Is a short barrel a problem for accuracy? Not at the distances this gun is for. A 208mm barrel with a well-set hop will outshoot most players inside a building.
