📖 New to HPA? This runs on external high pressure air — it needs a tank, a regulator and a line before it will fire a shot. Read our complete HPA guide before buying.
The ten-inch Tactical, finished in Tan rather than black. Same Gen 3 billet receiver, same INFERNO Gen 2 on the Spartan board, same 285mm barrel behind a 10-inch MK-1 rail. The difference is what it looks like on a sling.

Ten inches is where most MTW owners end up. It is short enough to work a building without fighting the doorways and long enough to hold its own on an outdoor site, and the 285mm inner barrel is the length Wolverine publish their efficiency figures against, so it is the best documented build in the range.

The Tan finish matters more than it sounds like it should. Most HPA guns are black, and on a desert or arid site a black rifle is the thing that gives a static player away first. It also simply suits a tan-and-green loadout, which is otherwise a lot of mismatched kit held together by one dark rifle.

Underneath, nothing is given up for the colour. The receiver is machined from solid 6061 with Intrinsic Alignment holding the engine, hop and barrel on a single axis, the air route is the integrated filtered grip line, and the Tactical trim brings the 1045 steel flash hider, the DLG premium real-steel grip and the heavy-duty milspec stock.

It is also the easiest gun in the range to add to. Everything hanging off it is MTW-Spec or real-steel AR pattern, so rails, grips, stocks and sights are a question of taste and budget rather than compatibility.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Tan finish painted or anodised? It is the factory finish on the receiver set rather than a repaint, so it wears like the black guns do rather than chipping off an aftermarket coat.

Does the colour cost anything in performance? No. It is the same receiver, engine, board and barrel as the black 10 inch Tactical. Only the finish changes.

Will black accessories look wrong on it? A black rail or grip on a tan receiver is a common and deliberate look, so it is a matter of taste. If you want it all matching, real-steel AR furniture is widely available in tan.

How efficient is the 10 inch? This is the length Wolverine measure on, and at low energy settings a 48/3000 bottle will give you several thousand rounds. Your own figure depends on your pressure, your dwell and how hard you shoot.

Can it be upgraded to an XB? Yes. The board is a bolt-in MTW-Spec part, so swapping the Spartan for a BLINC and the Gen 2 for an XTS turns it into the XB configuration without changing the receiver.

⚠ Always run a secondary regulator. Never put tank pressure straight into the engine. Set your output before you shoot, and chrono at the site every time.

💡 Titan Forge Airsoft tip: If you are building a tan loadout, buy the furniture before the optics — a mismatched grip is more noticeable than a cheap sight. See HPA rifles.
